The Earth Remembers184cms x 122cmsMany of these works emerged during the lockdown years when my usual practice of portraiture was no longer possible. Dance Me to the Edge of Time became a series of figurative collages exploring movement, uncertainty, and the strange sense of living from one moment to the next never quite knowing what lay ahead. The series was created for ‘A Brush with Sculpture’ an exhibition held in December 2021 alongside Sculptor Mela Cooke. Each work grew from my own printmaking and mixed media, bringing together fragments of imagery, texture and the human figure. What began during this period has since become an important part of my practice. I have continued to explore collage and mixed media, extending the process beyond the figure and into other subjects, including landscape. |
